The Adventure Continues

In my never ending quest to find gainful employment, I found myself in the OC. Having come so close to the ocean, I took the last few miles of the 55 to Newport Beach (in my mind this will always be Arrested Development country - hence speaking to the lack of my own actual life). Always nice to breathe in a little salt air.

I was thinking of going to the Mission at San Juan Cap or maybe take my chances calling Long Beach since I was in the neighborhood, but then I got a call from a friend in LA - and, hey, I was practically already there.

Nice to know someone still has some money

Met my trading friend in LA and had planned to go to Malilbu for a late lunch. Reality bites, however, and the idea of trying to get back in the inevitable traffic stopped us. So we went to her favorite Brazilian restaurant (at Overland and Washington) instead. I had never had Brazilian food before. It was very good and had a wide appeal - lots of vegetarian items as well as really good, well seasoned meats. It was near a gym so there were lots of 20 something guys in great shape if that is your thing - which for me, not really. A cougar I ain't.

Lots of black beans and really good veggies

And in cutting across a side street I came upon what is now my favorite traffic sign ever:

When I left BH I headed straight for Koreatown and a quick visit with Murph. Unlike Beverly Hills, Koreatown was all decked out for Christmas. Koreans: the keepers of the Christmas spirit. And it has been feeling like Christmas - it has been colder than Rockport here - but not nearly as cold as Moscow.

Bye bye LA
