Nerdventure

We got a surprise visit from Danny this weekend. I got some info on his spring/summer plans. He is taking a trip cross country to photograph and interview different alternative energy companies for a variety of reasons. Personal, professional and just plain nerd - all his SLO friends get it and all his UCSB friends can't figure out where the party is. When he gets back he will prepare to be a white water rafting guide on the Kern River for the summer.

Pasha hatches his evil plan...

Danny prepares to leave for his nerd-adventure (nerdventure?) in his custom decked-out truck.

Danny's grandparents, The Zimmermann's, were on their way to Vegas and hadn't seen Danny yet since they came for the winter, so they stopped by to say hello.

Danny added solar panels for electricity so he can email and do his web page design stuff while on the road. And cook, of course. He also built a ventilating system so he can have a fan running if needed while in the back of the truck. I am looking forward to seeing where this little adventure takes him.

Some of his stops tentatively include Texas, Idaho, Florida, Colorado and Massachusetts, not in that order and will include a guy who includes solar in roads, algae farms and who knows what else. Not me. We will find out as he tells us. When I get an URL I will add it to this page so check back later.

I guess I should not feel bad. last night I had dinner with an ex-coworker and he is going to Vietnam to teach English (he was born there, is fluent in, but hasn't been back since he was 1) and hasn't told his family (parents and siblings). Thank heaven for small favors.

Check back for a Danny URL
