I Love L.A.

Well, my little plan to get to know the largest city in the region has paid off. I can now drive around the town and not always be hopelessly lost. My plan today was to go into LA and take some pictures of public art - there is a surprising variety and quality - and to visit some galleries and see what the LA art scene is contributing these days.

Ah plans! How quaint. I called my two sets of LA friends and was able to spend time with both. Which essentially meant that I got none of my goals accomplished. So another trip to LA is in my future.

To soften my disappointment we had a wonderful brunch at a local Indian restaurant.
Excellent place

My young trading friend who is in LA by way of Pakistan and the UK. We are surprisingly simpatico.

While seeking a gallery on Santa Monica Blvd I pulled into a side street looking for parking. Turns out we happened onto Rodeo Drive where my sad little Buick looked a little more shopworn than normal. The gallery was closed so we had to settle for the graphic arts of Armani.

My one public art piece I captured on film - Rodeo Dr again

After leaving my friend at her apartment, I headed to Koreatown to see Rose and Murph

They just recently moved to an apartment in a great 1920s building. They even have an old fashioned built in ice box in the kitchen that is now used as a cabinet. Nice little spot. We had lasagna by Murph, music by Led and peers and more than one dessert. What more could a girl ask?
