Down By The Seaside

Lately I have been working pretty much constantly. Went from $.26 in the bank to more work than I can stand rather quickly - several of my lines I threw out actually bit! Yesterday I found myself with an afternoon free and although I could have worked, I decided to take a notebook and pen and go to the ocean and sit and make some long term plans and work that night instead. Plus it was crazy sunny and hot here in Murrieta and enough with the heat already!

Arrived while still light out, but after the crowds had left.
As I approached the coast I could see that there was a much appreciated cloud cover that extended about a mile or less inland. Yay!

I realized I have had these flip flops for over 4 years. I know because Tom used to hate them and I do not know why. Perhaps I hold onto things too long? LOL.

After a bit even the surfers started to leave.

This is my idea of a perfect day at the beach. Overcast, no sun, cool but not cold, and empty. Took a walk, had a chowder and a beer at O'side Harbor and went home when it got dark. Even managed to add a few things to the notebook. What a relief from the relentless sun. Now, back to work!

I may rent some kids so I can add some activity to the blog. :)

Today's Update

Again - the weird Clare Luck. I tried my darndest to screw up my day but still managed to come out smelling like a rose.

Morning: Went to Albertsons and used their self serve check-out and walked away from $16 in change. Remembered about 15 minutes later, returned and they had kept the money for me!! Wow.

Evening: Went to Albertsons and locked my keys in the car - extra key not available. No money in bank account and no AAA because they had already come out to help too many times. They would send someone out for $55 though. Had to walk home to get the money, which luckily I had as I have just recently been able to adopt an actual budget. Did I mention it was raining? When I returned and was waiting for the truck, an employee and I were talking and she said she would put it on her AAA. The driver arrived just then and AAA and the driver were fine with it. So - dodged another bullet.

Albertsons has been very very good to me.

Tried to blow $71 bucks and failed.

Wow. Great story! "...and no AAA because they had already come out to help too many times." <-- Relatable. I'm waiting for them to say that to me...
