Easy Bake Oven

It is possible I am adjusting to this mini lifestyle just a little too well. I am living in a doll house and I realized I had a full functioning 'kitchen' except for an oven. I knew there were stand alone ovens in existence but not sure what they were and as usual the limiting factor was money. So I started and ended at Wallmart with just a regular toaster oven. And the first time I used it I thought "I have an Easy Bake Oven!" except a lot hotter. It may be smaller than my microwave. But for cooking for one it works. Had a lovely salmon filet the other night and it was perfect.

What else could a girl ask for - the bar is pretty low at this point

I had plans of taking pictures this week of the fall colors - yes, fall is finally here - but there was a wind and it is all over. That is the three trees that turned with our two nights of low 40s weather lost their leaves before I managed to bring my camera out.

Disappointingly, we had a rain too, but no snow on the mountains. Still a little too warm.

The Year Long Potato Patch

Last December or so I planted potatoes on a bin. When I moved it traveled with me. This was not my most prolific time garden wise what with not really having one of my own and the move, etc, etc, etc. So here is what I learned. Once potatoes mature they hang around for a bit and then decay and sometimes grow new potatoes from what was left in the ground. So after a YEAR in the bin (I did get a couple) there is a new batch. But they are too new. I should have waited until spring but instead I harvested the entire batch. It was underwhelming to say the least. Feast your eyes. LOL.

The entire harvest. The ones with the eyes may be 9 months old. I just don't know anymore.
