Another reason the blog has been on hiatus is that what with being broke, I haven't done anything! LOL. Since the last entry, I had the good fortune of having a drunk driver total my beloved Buick while it was parked outside the house. No question of fault. So I got a very modest check, but a check nonetheless and now I am driving what seems to be a fairly reliable 1996 Toyota Avalon. Which, oddly enough, makes my brother, Patrick, jealous.
Since I now had a reliable car, the first thing I did with it was drive up to see Tommy's family - who just welcomed (July 25th) a new baby - Macy. We had fun as usual - boggle, rocket launching, swimming, boating and I got to accompany Jason to school. Every morning he does not want to go. It is going to be a long 12 years ahead for him if he does not get on board.Oh yeah, and Elizabeth makes fresh chocolate chip cookies every night. What more could I ask?
Hot day in Sacto.
Grandmo! Look at me!
This is a series of pictures of Lyla and Jason watching The Three Stooges.
Notice that Lyla's expression never changes.
And that, ladies and gentlemen, is the difference between boys and girls.
What's not to love?
More cooling off - at the American River
Happy Grandmo. Macy obviously likes me best.
Big Sur Pictures
Finally - I NEVER see fog in Frisco but it was poetically rolling in the whole way down the coast while also remaining sunny. Quite a feat.
About 22 miles south of San Fran - and just in time for lunch
Went to the bathroom and saw this. Was 99% sure it was trompe l'oiel
but there was that little bit...
Here is the full thing.
Beautiful. Wish you were here.
Oh yeah, and one more teeny thing. Ellen treated me to a trip to Rockport in June, just in time for Danny's birthday, to see Ma and Da. What a sight for sore eyes to see everyone. I took precious few pictures but was relieved to touch base with everyone and connect back in. Two years is too long to be gone.
Spent every day with Danny and I think I have a new convert to Destino's. Love my kids. I hope he brought Jean and Grecia there when they visited.
Our beloved Joan, I would have included an eyes open one if I had it.
I did not get any pictures of dad but in the last few years every picture I have taken of him looks the same - same pose, same chair, different book.

Hanging out at Da's
Beth and Chris' new home/business
When I stopped these swans were actually forming a heart with their head and necks. But they refused to repeat it for me.
Other than that I am laying low and hustling for employment. This time I feel a lot more confident. I am also reading a lot and trying to gradually find ways to move - walking etc. Last year I hurt my shoulder and had to stop swimming. Very disappointing. But I can still walk and I am young enough to create a life of my choosing. I had a wandering thought of living with someone again and it almost brought on an anxiety attack. I want my own space - indoors and out - that I pay for and I create. Can't wait. If nothing else, it will be something to blog about.

YAY! It's good to have you back, and especially good to hear optimism in your posts! Love your kids and grandkids- I spy on their blog via your link- it is such a creative and happy family place to visit! The newest member of the family looks like her Grandma!!!
Hope your recent luck becomes contagious in all that you do my friend! Love and lots of encouragment from back East!
Great post mom. The Three Stooges picture sequence was hilarious. I'm also glad you wrote in Macys birth date. Now I can refer back to this post whenever I forget. I didn't take J/G to Destinos, but that would have been a great place for Keith to sport his fadora. I'm actually a recent convert of Rockport House of Pizza, because I can ride there on the moped. We are moving into the bed and breakfast as I write this, so we should do a walk through skype sometime.
TADA! 3 posts combined into one, so efficient!
The Three Stooges pictures are awesome. Boys are weird.
The picture of you holding Macy made me wanna hold the baby! I miss her and her sibs! So glad you got a chance to visit her as a newborn.
It was good to see you in June. Short visit, but a good one. I think of you each time I pass the house on Granite Street.
Love the pic of the Inn. Came out good. The inside is quite disorganized right now, but we're working on it.
Very best of luck on the job hunt. Especially with the photo and staging stuff! Both great gigs for you! Love, Beth
I witnessed the swans with their necks in a heart shape. We couldn't get the camera ready in time. But it happened. Beth
Great post, love to read your stuff. The 3 Stooges one is hilarious! bonnie
