A funny thing happened on my way to LA. I called Beth to tell her I heard that the Barbara Streisand auction items were on display for free veiwing at the Beverly Hilton. I figured who else would care? She called back and only then did I realize she was in LA! So we arranged to meet for dinner as I had already planned to meet Murph.

Barbara! Shoot the swan..?

We had the first rain of the season, matching the underlying feeling of the day.

I am a sucker for the Hollywood sign. After Barbara I went to LA County Museum of Art. The contemporary museum has an outdoor escalator, like an anemic version of the Center Pompidou, and this is the view from it.

Ah, Jackson Pollack. Similar to a Sam Cheney I remember...

The Gang at Dan Tana's on Santa Monica Blvd. in West Hollywood and right next to Mi-6 - and cool new club on the LA scene which would be unlikely to let me ever darken its door. The eggplant Parmesan was PERFECT, as was the company. But we missed Rose.
