There is a whole underground of people in California who attend dog parks. I have no idea if this is a true in other states, but around us there are at least 3 dog parks. Today we went to the favorite one. It was perfect weather, too. I think at the peak there were about 11 dogs of all sizes. Laska was always the smallest, but Layla was not always the largest.
Here is Laska, the smallest dog, being sniffed by the largest dog, a Great Dane.

The whole dog park is shaped like a bowl with a nice track along the top, which the gang uses to enjoy a run

Layla finally gets to play with someone whom she doesn't have to worry about squishing.
Hawk AlertThere is a bit of a drama that takes place at the dog park. It is also home to a lively population of gophers - I actually saw one today. A couple of red-tailed hawks have scoped this out as part of their territory. We think Pasha is safe, but we worry a bit about Laska. Jean and Grecia actually saw the hawk following Laska with its eyes while she loped around the park.
