Little Laska

For Jean's birthday I did a pastel of Laska. The likeness is good but on the whole it is not what I had hoped. But, deadlines being what they are, it is done. I am not the perfectionist that Phoebe is, and neither do I claim to be a pro. SO I figured I would give it to her and replace it later when I am more adept at pastels. They are limited in colors and hard to do depth. Or at least I haven't mastered it yet. I suppose blaming the pastels is a little misplaced.

Don't mention it to Jean until after she receives it on the third of June. Luckily she never looks at my blog so will not know as long as no one spills the beans.

It is barely a step up from the things the get a magnet on the fridge
but the frame and matte make it too heavy
