When I finally found out where the amenities were located and signed myself up as a current resident over the age of 55 I was in for a real treat. I mean, I have taken Hawaiian vacations that had less to offer.
We shall start at the lodge. It is a beautiful building that houses all sorts of rooms for hire, I assume, as well as games rooms where there is always a poker or mahjong game going on and available pool and ping pong tables.

Cozy lobby.
And yes, on this 70 degree California day there is a fire going in the fireplace.
But that is just the beginning. There is also a gym, a large locker room with a beautiful sauna and large showers and a salon! There is a woman who does hair et al with her own shop on site. And that was only in the building. And yes, on this 70 degree California day there is a fire going in the fireplace.
Locker room - which I had all to myself
The perfect Swedish sauna
What with it being an over 55 area, the showers are all handicap accessible and therefore extra large with the preferred hand held shower head.
Outside there are no less than five tennis courts, a badminton/basketball court, some work out stations and THE POOL. The pool is beautiful, empty, heated and it has four lanes for doing laps, although no visual cues for knowing where the side of the pool is. But I decided to let that one shortcoming go. Two other people were in and out while I was there around 1 pm. I am guessing it picks up in the summer, but it was 70 today so I am not sure what people are waiting for.One of the tennis courts
Badminton/Basketball. There is also a shuffleboard court. Does anyone really play that?
The deck has plenty of seating plus opportunities to sit in the shade if preferred as well as a large jacuzzi. Oh man! I am in heaven. This was way more that I had hoped for. The real challenge will be tearing myself away to do anything productive, as I must do.
The pool is kind of a Z shape with the long part accommodating the lanes. The whole thing is 3 1/2 feet deep except for a couple of random 4 1/2 foot parts.
Hello gorgeous!

I really have the most bizarre luck. I have my heart torn from my chest, but I am able to stay in my house for three years after I stopped paying. I lose the house, and land in a resort. So all in all, there are worse ways to struggle to my ultimate independence.

pretty sure you never mentioned that the house was in a 55 and over closed neighborhood with amentities. Yup, positive you didn't mention that. Well now. Do enjoy. Swimming is pretty much the only form of exercise that I ever really and truly enjoyed. Take full advantage!!!

do the grandkids know you have a pool? :) Beth
I did not know it was a 55+ place either or that there were amenities. It was two weeks before I know there was a pool and only this last week that I realized the scale of the operation. And the grandkids know now.
looks like a lucky find!!! Good news!! love THAT! - Beth :)
Awesome! I can't think of anyone who deserves a whole bunch of lucky breaks like this, than my friend Clare! Looks delightful- enjoy!
Looks like we'll be enjoying a swim next time we visit!
