Torrey Pines Copycat

Tommy and Elizabeth had gone to Torrey Pines twice while they were here. Hmmmm, I thought. That sounds like fun. It is one of my favorite spots in San Diego and I have not been there in a long time - perfect Saturday activity. So I picked up my #1 grandson and headed out for a sunset hike. This was not to be literally as one's car had to be out by five, plus the horizon was covered in clouds, but close enough.

We cut over through Rancho Santa Fe and passed a polo match and a lacrosse game. So RSF. Looked like fun. Had I had more time and money and was alone I might have checked out the polo match. We had a leisurely drive down the PCH heading towards TP and right at the bridge - the road was closed! Yikes! Had to haul to the 5 and past UCSD and backtrack but was pleased to see that we could get into the gate. Phew.

I had forgotten my camera, but then I remembered that almost everyone has a camera handy and took these with my old timey no data flip phone.

A view to the ocean through a canyon. I never quite understood what a canyon was until I saw one. As a matter of fact, I was confused about most geographical terms until I saw them myself - butte for instance.

Gorgeous sun spot on the water.
