And Life Goes On

Earlier this month I went to Tommy's at their request so they could have the time to properly look at cars to buy to replace the one that had recently been totaled (no one hurt). As it turned out, I was sick (literally) and exhausted by the time I left. Thank you Lyla! But we accomplished a lot.

1) Because Tommy and Elizabeth were able to calmly look at cars without any unreasonable demands from bored, crying short people they got a good price on a good family car - a Honda Pilot; which is nicer than it's very unsexy name. Seats 8. That tells the tale.

2) Babysat for the kids so Liz could work on a job that was accepted for her via her iphone by Lyla

3) Helped replace the shattered shower door. It was definitely a three person job.

4) Made doughnuts - it was obvious they were not getting enough fat and sugar.

Some of the highlights:

Captured, at least somewhat, The Look. Lyla will stop and semi-glare at you with her penetrating little eyes and one wonders what she is expecting of you. This is pretty close.

When playing on the swing, there was little patience while waiting for the next turn.

Swing compromise achieved!

We went for a walk. It included every item we could find with wheels. Three houses into it, they were content to abandon their wheels and go home. Luckily, not being new to this I had already mentally calculated if I would be able to wheel everything back on my own should it come to that.

Doughnuts!

Got this idea from my dad. Made from refrigerator biscuits. They were better than they deserved to be.

Assortment of glazed, sugar and cinnamon. Lyla liked them. The internet being what it is, decided to up the modesty quotient. Didn't want to end up in jail.

Oh the fun we had looking for these items! Although the back bumper of the car is a handy place to put them.

And of course general kids being cute stuff:

I give you: The Family Zimmermann in their Sunday finest.
That dress stayed on approximately 1 minute. Too froo-froo for Lyla.
