May Garden Transition

Following up with the garden. One thing I can honestly say I am an expert at. It has been interesting having only one 4X4. It means that now that it is time to plant the summer stuff, something has to give. So out came the peas (sniff), one lettuce square and the broccoli. Already got a broccoli head but was still getting shoots. Not enough to extend its life, though.

In went a sungold cherry tomato as per special request from my landlady. Were it I, I would plant lots of tomatoes but not so this year. In the back with the tomato are a butternut squash and some cucumbers. They all get to share the trellis.

Also added eggplant, peppers and more beets.Finished harvesting the old beets  (made some borscht), carrots, dill, spinach, one of two spring onions and romaine lettuce

Still have the potato box. Planted a few more eyes in the empty areas. Odd angle.

Beautiful, bushy dill

Cabbage heading up

The new tomato

I love nature - until it eats my veggies or gets in my house. For some reason snails love bean seedlings. Why? And how do they know they are beans and not any other green thing? It is the one thing I will wave my organic gardening leaning for.

He shouldn't have attacked my beans.
