More Wildlife

OK. This is pretty lame. However, it was cool at the time. Another walk. Before I left I was thinking maybe I should bring my actual camera - zoom lens and all - but decided it was more than I wanted to carry.

As I approached the trail, not 20 feet in front of me was a red tailed hawk sitting on a low pole. I cursed myself for not having my camera and by the time I got the phone camera ready it had flown away.

As I walked down the trail I found it again and although it thoughtfully posed in several breathtaking ways the picture below was the best I could get. I also thought I saw a fox ahead but it turned out to be just a chihuahua. I think it is tiny enough to sneak in and out of its yard at will unlike the rest of the neighborhood canines. I also hear coyotes here at night. Wild things.

Hawk. Looks not unlike a vulture in this picture. ;)

A zoom lens would have been really useful.
