Counting Sheep

I have moved. A day early and I made some points with my son-in-law. He was supposed to help me tomorrow but he would have had to come after work. Today, two guys who were at my landlady's said hey, they had a truck and a trailer why not take the big things over now. Excellent.

Next move is to my own place. Enough already. I am definitely too old for this. However there is an underground of divorced 50-60 year old women who are struggling who match up nicely with homeowners who are stretched a little thin and have very large homes. So it works.

On my way there I saw a cloud of dust up the road. When I got closer I saw it was the sheep brigade. People hire shepherds to bring their flocks and clear the field of brush. Easier than mowing and they get free fertilizer too.

While I was taking pictures I heard a bell and all the sheep started going towards it, except one baby. He started running in the opposite direction and the shepherd had to run after him. But, that's his job. Imagine being able to say you are a shepherd in Southern California of all places.

Shepherd on right and lamb on the left.

Shade is a rare commodity here. I usually choose my parking spaces based on shade rather than distance from the store. Trees are smaller here and there are fewer of them. However, Escondido has done something brilliant in Kit Carson Park. They added solar panels in the parking lots and simultaneously save the city money and add shade to the lot. Love it.

I was getting all stressed trying to figure out which reaction button to press, so decided not to press any. Honestly I have lived here nearly 40 years and have NEVER seen a herd of sheep, much less an actual shepard. I'm amazed at what you come up with! bonnie
