The Lake

The Lake

Elizabeth started taking the kids to a local lake whose name I no longer remember. The part they go to is a kind of dammed area with a nice mix of grassy and sandy and a rope to note where it stops being shallow. Brought me right back to summers in upstate New York and the various lakes we would spend time at with our cousins. Great memories. And now I have some new ones. So few lakes allow swimming in CA that it was a real treat.

While the baby has fun, Lyla plots her next move...

Favorite father/son activity. Diving off of dad's knees.

 Pretty

If I could add the Jaws theme here, I would.
He is actually being a cayman. Yes. A cayman.
Not an alligator or crocodile, but a cayman.

 Bonus Activities!

There were two. One was getting to see the new house. Since I have been there escrow has closed and the new carpet and some new paint is already in. I can't wait to see the updated project.

And then there was the babysitting. During the anniversary dinner, Macy woke up. She is singularly hard to get down but I did it! Briefly. Finally I brought her out to the living room and rocked her to sleep. I had JUST put her down when Lyla walked into the room. She was silent and seemed to be holding something. I did not have my glasses on and it looked like a piece of paper with red on it. Oh cute. A picture. Not a picture. Blood on a tissue. I scooped her up and brought her to my room and took a look.

Turns out she decided she was hungry and rather then speak of it, she went to the fridge and got some cheese, then grabbed a knife and sat on the floor and proceeded to try. She actually cut her finger twice and bled pretty well. Later we followed the blood trail and it was obvious she went to her mom's bathroom, then to the other side of the house to her bathroom and when she could not find what she needed she just wrapped it in toilet paper and found me. When I asked what was wrong was the first time I heard a peep from her was when she burst into tears.

Luckily I have my own kit with me at all times due to an unfortunate experience in Greece we shall save for another day. Poor baby. The next day she yelled at her dad because he wasn't doing it the same as Grandmo. LOL. For once I was the one who did it right per the kids measuring stick.
Silent witness
