Celebrations abounded. Tommy and Elizabeth celebrated their anniversary on the 24th and Macy had her first birthday the next day!
But I was not only the babysitter. We had lots of fun otherwise. We went to the library, the lake, and the new house. We had a birthday party, played Boggle (and I won for a damn change) and practiced our first aid skills.
But first, the birthday...
If we had thought about it as adults we could have trained the kids that birthdays were cake only. It is usually pretty popular. I went with Jean to Pasha's school when she brought cupcakes at the end of the day. She felt like a criminal bringing in all the sugar. I said, "Forget it. The parents may glare at you but the kid will love you." And they did.
The kids helped decorate the high chair.

The nice thing about the first birthday is you can just wrap toys you already have
Guess what? Not new. Found in the playroom.
Elizabeth and Tommy have their own tale to tell about their anniversary adventures and I would recommend peeking at their blog. Link at top of page.
