I was thinking of planting a tomato seed in that bed under a 2 liter bottle cloche on the winter solstice since tomatoes are day length sensitive and see what happens. Sounds like as good a winter solstice celebration as I can think of. Wait, maybe a tree...and lights...and candles... and gifts - wouldn't that be great!

Summer Officially Ends
Today I harvested the last of the summer veggies. My 2X2 square of sweet potatoes and one last eggplant. Those sweet potatoes really produced! I may go door to door giving them away or get my year's supply of vitamin A over the next week or so - although I think they do keep OK dry for a few weeks at least.
