Cukes as Anti-Depressants

So I was having a hard day coping with loss and thought I was destined to spend the whole day that way. I went out to the garden and just sat and looked and before long I was up and working and admiring the abundance and making plans for the next move and lo and behold, I came down off the ledge. I am sure there are a few more ledges out there but my arsenal for stepping down is getting bigger. Severe depression can be a real drag! LOL. Depression jokes; they never get old.

As always, click on any picture to enlarge.

My gorgeous flower garden. It is front and center of the whole veg garden.

I have beautiful parsley and I rarely use it. Still love it.

Corn - I have been eating fresh corn for the last two weeks.

A real onion! I had given up on my onions ever forming bulbs and here you go.

I actually looked at my cukes today and thought, "I am so proud of you!" I may have actually gone around the bend. They are healthy (the plants) and plentiful - more pickles to come.

Today Pasha announced that he *needs* to plant something in my garden. I thought, since he just started school again, that it was a school project of some sort. Nope. It is just time. I am giving him three squares and he has chosen broccoli, carrots and dill and cilantro.

i don't know how you can put so much energy into your beautiful garden, i would have had a heat stroke and collapsed. at least for once the weather has been on your side this year, since summer never arrived till just this second week of august. i am absolutely 100% impressed with your work and your results. not to mention it's got to be incredible therapy. you're inspiring me to do some of this stuff...at least i'm thinking of it. maybe next year......bonnie

Let me know when you actually start your own garden Mom...although you have had success with your flowers.
