I'm Sure There's A Pony Under Here!

Is it any wonder I keep a blog? How would my dear family otherwise keep up with the go-go-go that is my life...

The next step in the garden is that once I take out the old plants, I need to top it off with some fresh compost and then replant for the next group. Well, at Lowes et al a 2cubic foot bag of compost costs $5 at the cheapest and I would need at least one bag for each of eight beds.

However, I found a place very close to me that has bulk compost: $20 per yard. Super. Except I have no truck. So, I figured my trusty Buick could handle maybe half a yard - only $10 and so that was the new plan.

This is half a yard of compost. At first I thought "that's it?" Until I started shoveling, and I realized that is was definitely my limit for any one visit. I brought my lifeguard hat, a shovel a wire trash can and a bunch of heavy duty bags.

And I filled that car. I now know that my Buick will hold 1/2 yard of compost. Good fun fact.
And it is better compost than you buy at the big box stores.
Now all I have to do it get it out of the car and into the backyard...dang.
I win the best buy of compost on the block! Woohoo!
OMG! I really have become the most boring person alive, haven't I?? :>

And speaking of gardens. This is a day's armload of produce.
I am sure there is a still life in there somewhere...

You go girl, way more interesting than what I did today.
What's with the Vita Mixer? (behind the veggies on the table) with all the produce you are eating you can't possible need that!

OMG You aren't going to be able to lift your arms tomorrow! Thats a ton if work! We tried to rid our yard if excess dirt by shoveling it into bags and it was way too much work. The garden better be worth it!!
