Next!

My plan was to mow the grass today (My plan was to mow the grass last Sunday, too. Not to mention Saturday...) so instead I cleaned out box one and will be replanting tomorrow or the next day with lettuce, broccoli, spinach, cauliflower, carrots, beets and more.

There was not much left in box #1 and I picked it all. Not bad for the dregs. I may have to try fried green tomatoes for the first time in my sheltered life. Above are carrots, red and green tomatoes and red and yellow onions.

I took out the riser at the close end that held the carrots and before that the potatoes. I also left one Anaheim pepper plant that is still producing pretty well.

On a sad note (pull out your tissues) I had to pull out all of the cucumbers. They had gotten too diseased and were completely covered with aphids. Lo and behold, they were also completely covered with ladybug larvae. So I tried to redirect the larvae and adults to other plants. There were dozens of them - but too little too late. Hopefully it is a good sign for next year.
