Mid-July Harvest

It is fast and furious now. Getting hard to keep up - almost time to try to learn canning. I am pretty sure I can master freezing, though. I have practically become a vegetarian just trying to eat what I am harvesting and it doesn't help that Jean and kids are out of town. Grecia is here, but MIA. I haven't seen him or the dogs in about two days.

I leave for Tommy's for 2 weeks on the 21st and it is actually HARD to leave. I love visiting his family but I am seriously torn about leaving the garden and possibly missing tomatoes and corn. The corn is the hardest, but I am sure there will be some left when I get back. I should produce 40-50 ears. And there will be 60+ tomatoes, I think. Yikes.

I needn't worry too much.
This is the up and coming garden featuring cucumbers, winter squash,
peppers, eggplant, carrots, onions, and beans.

Today's harvest - it is like this everyday!
Onion, radishes, tomatoes, pole beans, yellow beans and black beans, garlic and zucchini.

The beginnings of one of three sunflowers.
I have never successfully harvested the seeds. Maybe this year...

A pumpkin that I would swear doubled in size overnight.

A beautiful poppy.

Soul-feeding garden

This guy was put in the entry to my bedroom to keep Tom out of my thoughts while I slept.
He did a piss poor job so I have replaced him with:

Are you driving to Tommy's? Any chance to catch you in either direction?
